What's New at Winadu?
Our Boys Summer Camp Turns 80!
This year at Camp Winadu there will be many exciting new things that will make this the best summer ever. It is our 80th anniversary and we are proud to announce the following improvements to Camp on this milestone year.
Staff Addition: Bill Kangas, who has directed our ice hockey program in the past, will be a full-time staff member in the summer of 2007. Bill is the Head Hockey coach at Williams College and spent several years at the University of Vermont where he coached John LeClare. Bill will be our Head Counselor this summer.
Skate Park: We continue to upgrade our skate park at Camp Winadu. This summer you will and see a brand new mini half-pipe in our 200' x 75' facility. Winadu's skate park continues to be one of the best in camping
Cabin Renovations: This off-season we have been very busy continuing with our cabin renovations. We have now completed upgrades to all of our bunks making them comfortable, top notch accommodations.
Lakefront: After adding three new water ski boats last summer we have added one more for the summer of 2007. This gives Camp Winadu four new motor boats to use for waterskiing and wakeboarding. We are also adding two new Lasers to our fleet of sailboats on beautiful Lake Onota.
Tennis Facility: Camp Winadu has resurfaced the lower tennis courts which completes a multi-year renovation of our tennis facilities. The new courts combined with the return of Coach Pablo Montana makes our tennis program one of the best in all of summer camping!
Camp Winadu's 80th Birthday: Everyone knows that birthdays at Camp Winadu are tremendously special occasions for our campers. So with Camp Winadu turning 80 we are planning a summer long extravaganza of events to commemorate this momentous milestone. Our campers will be kept on their toes as several special events unfold throughout the summer.
