Camp Winadu

Dear Shelley,

I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful summer Eric had at Winadu. His smile has been constant since the moment he walked off the camp bus, his confidence soaring and his joyous memories of camp filling many conversations. Although there were some rocky moments at the start, you never wavered in your convictions that Winadu was a perfect environment for Eric. Time validated your belief and our confidence - never in question - was rewarded. Not only was his summer an important maturing experience in Eric's development, but also an important learning experience for us in the resiliency of our son, of whom we are immensely proud. Shelley, I can honestly say I felt a sense of calm amidst my own personal ambivalence as the summer began and the reason for it was your comforting words, experience and gentle touch.

Not only are my husband and son tremendous fans of yours, I cannot think of anyone with whom I would have more confidence with our three boys. Again, thank you for all your support and especially your friendship and compassion to Eric.
